I keep forgetting I have a blog.
Sorry, whoever's reading this and has been reading this for a while. Or if you just showed up, I'm grateful you took the time to read this.
My first semester of college is coming to an end. That is insane for me to grasp. It felt like just the other day I was terrified to move out of the house; now I'm so used to it. I didn't have a very good week last week and I am recovering this week.
It's extremely difficult being away from my family and friends. I won't be with them physically this year for my birthday. I've never had that happen to me before. I'm always with my immediate family and I won't be this year.
This week of recovery will help me get better organized and prepared for the end of the school year. I'll be packing up my things in a few weeks and say goodbye to the freshman dorm for good. I'll be moving into an apartment with my roommate in the fall. We're going across the street from campus and making our own space for hopefully the rest of time I'm in college.
It's nerve-wracking, but I'm so ready to get out of the dorm where the dryers don't work, the eggs are cold and the dining hall food makes me never want to eat any variation of chicken again. I'm excited to cook for myself because I think I really need that validation of making something again.
Life hasn't been the best, but that doesn't mean that good can't be found in it. Even if it's so minuscule like the sun shining, being able to write again or seeing your friends after not seeing them for a while can improve a multitude of feelings.
Hard conversations need to happen if you're feeling like you can't talk to someone about how you're feeling. It's okay to step away for a little while and focus on finding yourself. It's a journey that you're always going to be on, and discovering what makes you happy is the first step to do that.
Days are only days and they mean something. Take advantage of the time you have. Do whatever you need to keep yourself healthy and eventually, you may start to feel better every single beginning and end of twenty-four hours.
Now, some picture commentary that you totally signed up for.

I saw this while finding pictures for my book Instagram my roommate and I created!
Here's the link if you'd like to check it out :)

Spring is here! I saw these flowers starting to bloom and the sunlight was hitting the petals real pretty so I took a picture of them!

I read Paper Towns in like three days. Not sure how I felt about the ending, but it was definitely fun read!

The buds on this tree were beautiful, so I took a picture of them because the grass is green and when the weather is warm and the leaves are growing, I immediately feel rejuvenated.
Take some time to listen to some music. Bake some cookies or make your favorite meal.
Take three deep breaths and appreciate the pure sensation of it.
You've got this!
