Transitioning (1/13/23)

First post of 2023! Wow, it's been a couple months since I've updated this blog, but I won't try to kid myself into promising to update more because it probably won't happen. I'll try my best through! Spring semester is starting in a few days and I couldn't be more excited! At 4am on New Year's (I didn't accept that it was the new year before I went to bed), I finished my third draft of my manuscript, Sonder & Reverie! I was so proud of myself for finishing the draft in 2022, which was one of my goals that year. For this year, I'm still running with the idea of aspirations instead of strict goals. I want to be better to myself mentally and not put pressure on things that will take time. Doing well in classes and learning to enjoy living are what I strive for in 2023. I chose the words balance, transitions, and new beginnings to begin the year with. I'm making good progress with my manuscript's fourth draft, which will be the final writing for the novel, then the editing starts!

I saw this quote recently: "Productivity is not a direct reflection of your growth" and I'm trying to live by it. There are so many definitions of growth and for me to feel better personally is to take time to do something fun. Like reading, podcasts, coloring or journaling.

This year is full of opportunity and chance and I'm ready to take it on. No high expectations, not trying to stress as much, and falling back in love with my passion.
