December 13th: I've Solved Mental Health by Wearing a Clay Face Mask

Updated: Dec 15, 2021

Was I probably not going to touch this blog until at least after Christmas? That was the plan. But I decided to write another small check-in just to say a couple things.

Most importantly, THE KEEP IT WHOLESOME BRAND HAS A PODCAST NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(I will forever be this brand's hype man, I love it so much)

It's on Spotify and follow the Instagram for updates:

https://www.instagram.com/keepingitwholesome/

The podcast is interactive, and you guys can ask questions that he'll cover in the episodes. Simon takes his own experiences and puts them into answers for you from the perspective of a young-twenty-something person who's trying to keep it wholesome (haha, bad pun, but please keep reading)

You can DM if there is anything you want him to talk about.

I was listening to the first episode tonight, thinking about how far we've come in 2021. We've kicked serious butt trying to pull ourselves out of the pandemic funk. There have been hard-hitting events and crucial lessons necessary to learn from and grow because of them. It's 19 days away from 2022. Our new start again.

For our New Year's resolutions, let's try making aspirations instead of goals. Goals almost feel like they're required, whereas aspirations are like "if I don't reach my expectation, then it's not a big deal."

Here are a few of mine for the new year:

Listen to more music from the artists I already enjoy

Journaling my thoughts more

Blogging and making content to share for mental health and writing

Getting to know me and what I want for my life

This coming year is going to finish off my freshman year of college. That's insane. One year of college will be done in only a matter of months. I'll be starting classes that I picked out for myself.

Creative writing and exploring what makes me fulfilled is my ultimate aspiration as of right now.

Do what you're passionate about because there shouldn't be anything stopping you.

Look at your Christmas tree, your lover, your favorite book, and recall why that specific thing brings you so much elation.

Explore. Create. Keep it Wholesome (thanks, Simon)

Do it all. And do it because you want to. That's all you need. <3
