November 19th: Wow, it's been a minute

Hey there! (She says after not accessing her blog in two weeks). But it's all good. I can post whenever I feel like it, so ha.

I've been noticing little things over these eleven days and it's complied in the following:

-Different strangers playing the community piano in the dining hall, giving it a more joyous, welcoming feeling

-Singing in the car driving on the highway, letting out all my built-up emotions

-Finishing my 600 PAGE REQUIRED BOOK for English and screaming in my car over the ending

-Finished Song of Achilles and I was in a depression that night, laying on my floor and discussing/ yelling about it with my roommate

-Started reading Again, But Better and I am in love with it, even though I'm on page 121. I was legit laughing myself stupid over my new fictional man obsession and his dumb lines

-Discovering new playlists on Spotify, especially the fall aesthetics and Freaky Friday the Musical

-Obtaining Burger King chicken fries with my roommates after one's play at midnight

-Getting further in my third draft of my manuscript and giving the characters actual personality

-Observing the leaves falling and changing at my favorite time of the year. It's cold and now it's time for cozy and warm feelings :)

-Working with a LoFi livestream in the background, reminding me that I'm not alone

-Having hot, comforting soup for dinner

-My roommate offering and buying me a vitamin water and egg sandwich

Been waiting for good news or a sign, or whatever. The student job I applied for FINALLY got back to me, so I can make money as a broke college student! It's a hecking miracle.

The little but significant things can go unnoticed and overlooked, but if you take the time to notice them, it can improve a day.

I've been struggling with motivation in my classes, especially with finals coming up. I literally hyper focused on a seminar essay today for two whole hours and completed it. It's always a toss up if I'm going to put off assignments or finish them in one sitting.

Putting a plan in place, but not having to necessarily as stick to it has given me the freedom of choice. I don't have to overwork myself and put pressure on myself if I'm not working on something "productive."

Taking care of yourself is productive. If you're having trouble with something, take a step back, breathe, and go do something for yourself that makes you smile. Turn on a wax melter (if you're a college student) or light a candle. Remind yourself that even though you spend a hour in a scrolling paralysis on Tiktok, that working yourself into a burnout will only harm you in the long run.

Remember that the holidays are approaching so quickly and soon you'll be sipping hot chocolate, staring at your shimmering Christmas tree, with fluffy socks and a blanket in a cozy chair, taking in the ambiance.

You'll grateful for something, even if it's just being alive and breathing. Happy Thanksgiving. You're loved and worthy of every good thing that comes your way.
