November 4th: Burnout Won't Get Me This Time

Hey there...there's nothing like a looming deadline to get procrastination tendencies to set in. Do you ever feel an impending burnout creeping up on you and proceed to ignore it? Like, hey dude, I'm trying to remain motivated and you're threatening a depressive episode?
Not today.
I was asked by a girl today in the elevator (mind you, I had my headphones in, listening to Song of Achilles while I had the physical book in my hands) if the book was good. I'm like 50 pages in, but it made me happy to know that random people have the same interests as me.
No spoilers for Song of Achilles because I will riot. I did have an unofficial therapy session with a lady in my college and it was really nice to explain some things that had happened in my senior year and the insane transition to my first year of college.
This transition has been rough, but my support system has been incredibly helpful with getting through the days.
I took this day for mental health reasons. I've started working out (treadmilling if you want specifics) and it's really grounded me into more of personalized routine.
I've been contemplating all day what I should write for this blog post. I know it shouldn't stress me out, but most things do. I've been getting better about managing my stress.
The balance of work and relaxing is something that can always be improved. Reading books I find entertaining definitely heightens my mood. However, it is a double-edged sword because I want to finish the story while I have a pile of homework waiting for me (obvious exaggeration).
I didn't finish my essay today, but I made significant progress on it. Which is enough. The to-do list doesn't have to be completed in order for you to feel validated. Do what you can in the time that you have.
Right now, I'm listening to Christmas music (Oh my God, sue me) with my roommates, eating Halloween candy. It's a vibe in this common room.
Drink some water. If you're feeling down, watch one of your favorite movies. Light a candle and write some things you're grateful for.
