Grapevines draped in spirals, free of leisure and duty.
They are spoken through, soft words of gossip transpire beyond just the rows. The words fall deaf to her ears.
She dashes to meet him, even though they are said to be forsaken, fated to fail.
She doesn't care. Her dalliance will not end if she remains with him.
He calls her name, she keeps her stride. All of them speak of her as if she is not there, she is not supposed to be opinionated.
But she burns like fire does. She desires nothing more than to be content with a life that will bring her that happiness she has long been searching for. That seemingly endless journey ended with his magnificent eyes that brought meaning back into her life. Into her lungs. She wanted to live again.
To feel the sunlight on her skin. To truly understand what makes life so forlorn but also so worthwhile in its efforts. She experienced painful loneliness in her past, but she isn’t deterred. It shoved her to the ground and refused to help her up, so she learned to rise herself.
She resists the thoughts that would otherwise consume her. Her strife seemed to melt away when she gazed into his eyes.
He remains unshaken, undeniable. Her fantasies may pull her elsewhere, but when she returns, he sits, waiting. Anticipating her. He calms her as light music stirs her soul.
He wraps her into his arms and she leans into the warmth. His heartbeat beats rhythmically against hers. There isn’t anything that would pull her away from his constancy.
She wishes to remain, in this moment, with only him.
